MS3: Summer Work 2014
By now you should have:
When you come back in September you will start to write your first draft straight away. There will be no more time for research! Your job this summer is to make sure you're ready to do this. Use the links on the main MS3 page to help, and make sure you've done all of the above before September.
Have a good break! :)
- Decided on and submitted a title for your research project (if you haven't submitted yours, email me!)
- Done your wider research, including primary sources and secondary sources.
- Primary: the texts you are studying. You should have named these in your title. You need to select and analyse key scenes, using technical terminology and media theory.
- Secondary: wider information about your chosen texts, e.g. who directed them?, as well as articles or opinion pieces offering ideas and interpretations. You should quote from and reference these sources as you write your essay.
- Made list of five features, qualities, or 'things' you have found out, e.g. five different characteristics of the representation of your chosen subject. This list will form the basis of your essay plan. You were given more information about this in class, but if you're still confused or you want me to check anything, just email me.
- Planned what you want to argue in your essay. What point are you ultimately heading towards? You should come back in September with an essay plan, based around your five points. This is vital!
- Had an idea about a production task to link to your project, using the conclusions you have formed during your research.
- Started to list your research sources in what will eventually be your bibliography.
